Suzhou Creek Bike Ride
COST: RMB 260 (includes bike guide, bike and helmet rental, bike transportation, water, and a snack) MEET: Outside Weining Road Station, exit 1
Time & Location

About the Event
Join us as we bike along part of Suzhou Creek, part of the Huangpu River which empties into the Yangtze River. Along the creek, old warehouses and abandoned factory buildings have been converted into homes for contemporary art. Once crowded lane houses with poor living conditions have been demolished or renovated, and old European-style buildings protected by the local government. The Suzhou Creek Riverside, once heavily polluted, has recently become a popular public space for residents of and visitors to Shanghai.
We will bike approximately 12 kilometers in an urban area of the city, and explore the new waterfront parks, art districts like M50, museums, and unique and interesting bridges.
We will enjoy the beautiful landscapes on both sides of the Suzhou Creek and learn about the dramatic changes that happened to the city and its people.
