About the Event

Art is perceived as possessing refined cultural value, which is why the monetary aspect is often obscured. Yet, art can only be circulated within a sphere of economic dependence that involves commercial galleries, museums, and art collectors. In this honest discussion with Julie Chun (Adjunct Professor of Art History who teaches at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics), we will explore the ways in which art “moves” beyond aesthetic contemplation.
