About the Event
As part of our ongoing 2024–2026 art history series for SEA, Survey of Art in China, we invite you to join us for an in-depth study of contemporary art in China. Taught by Julie Chun (Adjunct Professor of Art History), this session will focus on how international art made inroads into China.
Using the 15th Shanghai Biennale, “Does the Flower Hear the Bee”, curated by Canadian curator Kitty Scott, as a case study, we will examine the historical context as well as the ways in which current conditions and trends in global art are received in China.
