About the Event

Ningbo is one of China’s oldest cities and was known as a trading city on the Silk Road at least two thousand years ago. Today its port, the port of Ningbo-Zhoushan, is among the busiest in the world. On this trip we will learn the history of the port town, explore one of the oldest libraries in the world, and visit the Ningbo Historic Museum. The museum was designed by Wang Shu, the first Chinese citizen to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize. The design is a conceptual combination of mountains, water, and oceans.
