Xitang

About the Event

Xitang is a beautiful water town which is best known for its picturesque old bridges, the covered corridors by the canal, ancient lanes, and well-preserved old houses from hundreds of years ago.

We will take a private bus from the city and drive for one and half hours to Qingpu. We will enjoy biking in the scenic countryside. First, we will cycle along a big canal that is surrounded by small villages, fishing ponds, duck farms, and rice paddies. After a short break, we will continue by riding through an interesting village and finally end the ride at the button town. We will then drive about 20 minutes to Xitang ancient town. There we will enjoy lunch including some famous local dishes at a nice riverside restaurant. After a satisfying meal, we will take a boat ride and then wander around the water town. Around 4 pm, we will take the bus back to Shanghai.

Cycling distance is 20 kilometers.
