About the Event
In the forgotten corner of contemporary Shanghai, remnants of a bygone era have taken on a new identity. Follow Maxime Tondeur of Explore Beyond to visit the former textile workers’ dormitories, walk to the red brick houses and loop back via the former police barracks. Then, we will take subway line 12 for 4 stops and proceed to a short walk to visit Xiahai Temple for an introduction to Chinese Buddhism and the stories of seafaring tradition. There is an option to have a bowl of vegetable noodles at the temple restaurant at the end of the tour at your own cost.
