About the Event
When we hear the word yoga, most people think about physical movements on the mat. The physical postures, which are called Asanas, are an important part of a yoga practice. However, yoga offers a lot more tools and techniques to train the body and mind beside the physical practices. Pranayama breathing techniques are used to relax the body and mind and strengthen the respiratory system. Dhyana, the Sanskrit word for meditation, is where we try to draw our senses inward and focus our minds to explore what is happening internally.
In this workshop, we will experience a classical Hatha yoga session. We will prepare our bodies with different breathing techniques (Pranayama) before a physical practice on the mat (Asanas). We will rest our bodies and mind with a long final relaxation (Shavasana) while having a guided meditation.
No previous experience is necessary to join this event. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your own mat, water, and a small towel.
