Ink Factory Tour
Time & Location
About the Event
Chinese invented ink not long after they started to write. We’ve all been impressed watching the art of calligraphy, but do you know how the ink is made and why some are so expensive? Our guide, Lisa Zhu, invites us to find the answers by visiting an ink factory, hidden in downtown Shanghai. Bring your camera for some unique photo opportunities, and we may be able to purchase some old inks if the factory has inventory left! Also, bring a face mask and avoid wearing light colors as there is ink powder in the air throughout the factory.
