About the Event

Did you know that blue and white porcelain elements have been on Starbucks cups and Valentino's show? Did you know that one of China’s "national treasures" is the blue and white porcelain of the Yongle period? Did you know that over-glazed tableware at home can be poisonous? Do you know the difference between pottery and porcelain, and the blue and white characteristics of the different dynasties? Join us as we visit the Aurora Museum with Janny Chyn from Shanghai Pathways, where we will learn about clay, materials, and production methods of ceramics; and understand the history behind the blue and white designs. The Aurora Museum was created by the world-famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando, and the museum’s "Blue and White Porcelain" exhibition is unique. Let’s appreciate this beautiful porcelain together!
