About the Event
Once a bustling industrial waterway, Suzhou Creek has undergone a remarkable transformation. Today, its revitalized riverbanks offer scenic walking paths, striking architecture, and glimpses into Shanghai's past.
Join us and our guide, Clarisse, for a leisurely 2.5-hour walk covering approximately three kilometers along both sides of Suzhou Creek. Along the way, we will learn about the people and events that have shaped the area over the years.
We will explore several historical landmarks, including the Sihang Warehouse, a site of fierce fighting during the Second Sino-Japanese War, the former General Chamber of Commerce, historic bridges, and the impressive General Post Office building. Each has its own story to tell about Shanghai's development over the past century.
