About the Event

The Khmer civilization during the Angkor period (circa 9th-15th centuries) produced one of the greatest artistic achievements in Southeast Asia. During our time in China, many expats have visited or will visit Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, an extraordinary temple complex renowned for its masterful stone carvings. Vast narrative panels run for hundreds of meters, and there is intricateiconography that even the best local tour guides sometimes overlook. In addition, there are outlying temples that are often missed, yet these smaller complexes served as important precursors toAngkor Wat. Join us for an in-depth art historical lecture that will expand your understanding of one of the world’s most important cultural sites.

This event will take place at the intimate and charming La Cava de Laoma Wine Bar tucked away in Jing’an District.
