About the Event

This ride is for bike lovers! We will start from the south end of the newly finished bike trail along the river close to Xupu Bridge. Once we choose the bikes, there is only one thing to do: follow the bike lane and pedal hard. There are 12 bridges over the Huangpu River in Shanghai. We will be seeing four of them during the ride. The second one we will pass is Nanpu Bridge, which is the earliest one in the city center, built in 1991. We will continue our ride to Lupu Bridge, which was once the longest steel arch bridge in the world. The area by Lupu is the former Expo site where Shanghai hosted the 2010 World Exposition. We may still see some of the pavilions and structures which are now museums, shops, and restaurants. Before we make our way to Lujiazui, the financial district in Pudong, we will take a short break for coffee/tea by the river. The ride to Lujiazui is breathtaking with the most famous landmarks of the city on both sides. Finally, we will reach the last bridge of the ride as we pedal to the north. The Yangpu Bridge was built two years after Nanpu and was originally not painted. It was coated red for the millennium.

Total distance for this ride will be 26 km.
