About the Event

Going to a bar on a Friday evening and having a beer or a cocktail would be a typical start to the weekend, but visiting eleven bars in a row is something special! Visiting these bars, which you might have walked by without noticing, should be on your Shanghai to-do list. These so-called “speakeasies” are based on the hidden bars from the prohibition in the United States, where people needed to hide enjoying their booze from government regulators during prohibition, usually in some dark and silent basement or backdoor room. Each of these bars has a completely different concept about their appearance. During this walk our guide Florian will introduce us to eleven speakeasy bars, which are all within a very convenient walking distance. Due to the quantity of bars, we will not have time to sit down at every single one, but we will have a chance to purchase and enjoy some of these delicious cocktails at several places. Florian will share the locations with us during the tour so we are able to return to them with our friends.
