About the Event

Join us on this tour to get to know Xintiandi, where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was formed. We will visit the site of the First National Congress of the CCP and learn how the CCP came into power in China. Next, we will head to Sinan Mansions, an area where only Western villas were allowed to be built, where we will visit the former residence of General Zhou Enlai. Housed in a beautiful French-style building, this home was also used as the Shanghai Office of the Delegates of the Communist Party of China. We will then marvel at Dr Sun Yat-Sen’s former residence, and learn how he influenced the revolution in China. In the Former French Concession (Xuhui), we will walk to the Shanghai Associated House Common Pleas and listen to interesting stories about how the UK, US, and France ran their courts in Shanghai. Finally, our tour will conclude at Tianzifang where we will explore the many creative businesses that call it home.
