About the Event

The Chinese fan has a long history and is an integral part of national culture in China. A round silk fan was especially favored by ladies in the palace in the Tang dynasty and has gained in popularity ever since. The patterns on the fans are diverse, including calligraphy, painting of landscapes, plants, and characters. It is not only an elegant tool to cool down with but also tells the story of Chinese art. In this event, we will have the opportunity to learn about Chinese painting and calligraphy, and make a beautiful fan under the guidance of the teacher.
