About the Event
Like incense burning, tea ceremonies, and painting; flower arranging is part of the lifestyle among the literati of ancient China. Flower arrangements were first used as an offering to Buddha during the Wei and Jin dynasty periods (300AD), and later in the Tang/Song dynasties it developed into an enjoyment among literatis. Flower arranging is an expression of one’s inner self, spirit, and appreciation of nature.
Following the previous Chinese flower arrangement workshops conducted by Aina Flora, Natalie will continue to explain to us the philosophy behind flower arranging for tea ceremonies and the guidelines for Chinese flower arrangements. We will also make our own flower arrangement with Natalie’s guidance.
