About the Event
All of us take photos, so what makes daily snapshots different (or not) from artistic photographs? What does it mean for photographs to be “edgy” or “critical” to become a contemporary art form? For this special museum visit, Julie Chun (Adjunct Professor of Art History) will be in dialogue with the Photography Historian Shi Hantao to discuss the photography exhibition “The World Beyond the World” that brings together recent works by emerging photography artists from China and Japan that Shi has co-curated.
