About the Event
A prosperous town in the thirteenth century, Jiading was rich with trade in cotton and other goods. The literary class produced many imperial examination scholars, who in turn enriched the town with culture in the form of classical gardens, bamboo carving, painting, calligraphy, and poetry. Janny Chyn will lead us through the old town to visit Confucius Temple, the Imperial Examination Museum, and Huilongtan Park. On our way back, we will visit the Malu Grape Research Institute, where we will learn about grape cultivation, taste a variety of grapes, and for an extra cost you may purchase organic grapes (cash only). During this day trip, we will also have a Chinese lunch together.
