About the Event

Lake Tai is China’s third-largest freshwater lake. Its largest island, Xishan, is endowed with clear waters, charming villages, and lush orchards. The islanders describe it beautifully as “Among waters, there are hills; among hills, there are flowers and villages.”

Join Bato as we embark on a two-hour road trip to escape the concrete jungles of Shanghai to Xishan Island, where we’ll begin our bike ride from the bridge connecting the island to the mainland. We’ll cycle approximately 15 km through the island, taking in beautiful views of Lake Tai and the surrounding countryside along the way. After our morning ride, we will take a short bus ride to a lakeside restaurant for a delicious family-style lunch. We’ll enjoy some of Lake Tai’s famous local specialties, including fresh fish, freshwater shrimp, and healthy seasonal vegetables.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to Shigong Hill for a bird’s-eye view of Lake Tai and the surrounding islands. From there, we’ll continue cycling to a local farm, where we’ll pick fresh oranges to take home.
