About the Event
Sheshan is known as the backyard garden of Shanghai city. It is the only natural mountain forest resort in Shanghai and has always been a pleasant getaway from the urban hustle and bustle.
We will spend a whole day exploring the area and looking for the hidden gems. We will start the bike ride from the Sheshan metro station (. The area is perfect for cycling and is filled with greenery and well-paved roads. We will bike around the Moon Lake Sculpture Park first and then make our way to West Sheshan Park. We will continue to ride to Tianma Hill for a hike. It is not known to many that there is a leaning tower in Shanghai. If a comparison were to be made based on age and tilt, it exceeds the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Before we start the hike, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. We will try some family-style cuisine from the region. There are different paths to get to the top of the hill where we may have scenic views on a clear day. Walking among the bamboo forest will give us much joy. Finally, after checking out the tower, we will cycle another 10km back to the metro station and finish the trip with hot chocolate/coffee/tea or a cold beer.
This event is family friendly including children that can ride independently. The ride is approximately 25 kilometers.
