About the Event
80 kilometers away from Shanghai, is a quiet watertown; and the “Six Arts Museum” is located here. In 2017, the Six Arts Museum with more than 30,000 collections was officially settled in Lili Watertown. The Museum was opened by Du Weiming, a 60-year-old American collector, with more than 13,000 square meters of exhibition hall, displaying 35,000 exhibits collected from various places. This is probably the largest museum of folk art in China. These works of art have condensed the painstaking efforts of countless artisans in the past thousand years.
Tour Summary:
We will drive one and one-half hours to Lili Watertown, stroll on the ancient street, and eat lunch in a local restaurant - tasting the special food from this Watertown. After a big lunch of local cuisine, we will go to the “Six Arts Museum.”
The museum is Shanghai / Suzhou region's most astonishing Ancient Folk Arts Museum, devoted exclusively to the environmentally friendly, historically important, rescue, preservation, and display of ancient Chinese arts. It’s now exhibiting an amazing array of architectural salvage pieces, stone and wood carvings, temple and domestic folk arts, antique furniture and furnishings, and artistic artifacts.
