About the Event

Located in the suburbs of Suzhou, a unique museum embodies the handicraft spirit of China’s wood carvers. Immense in scale and collection, the Six Arts Museum was founded by an American lawyer who arrived in China during the early years of the Economic Opening-Up era. By gathering and acquiring objects that were being relentlessly discarded, he has amassed one of the largest collections of Chinese wooden artifacts, from simple wash buckets to enormous and intricately carved wall panels.

Join Art Historian Julie Chun on this rare journey to uncover a vibrant historical period whose economic and social effects continue to resonate today.

Note: Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate those who require a strict vegetarian or vegan lunch, since many of the prepared vegetable dishes are laced with meat.
