About the Event

Yangcheng Lake is located approximately 100 km from Shanghai and is well known for its hairy crab. When the northwest wind blows in fall and winter, it’s time to eat a Yangcheng Lake crab. Our day trip starts with visiting a 500 year-old Chongyuan Temple in the scenic peninsula of Yangcheng Lake. The temple boasts several sites: the highest pavilion and sculpture, the highest main hall, and the longest stone arch bridge. After we experience the quiet atmosphere in the temple, we’ll go to the farm kitchen restaurant to taste the hairy crab and local delicacies. We will learn all about hairy crab: the difference between male and female, what to eat and how to eat with the crab knife. Step by step we will become an expert in enjoying this delicacy.
