About the Event
Join us as we discover small, family-run restaurants that prepare food today like they have been doing for generations on this intimate walking tour through the Former French Concession. Between stops, we will learn about the foods that locals love and why are so popular as each dish, restaurant, and neighborhood is explained by our guide. We will watch as Shanghai's famous soup dumplings are prepared fresh to order at a favorite dumpling shop in town. Then we will taste a few traditional Shanghainese dishes, such as braised pork belly, at a bustling local hangout. Finally, we will slurp down the city's most popular noodle dishes in a hidden local shop that's been serving the same recipe for decades.
