Luxun Park and Hongkou Story
Time & Location
About the Event
Join Janny Chyn from Shanghai Pathways for an authentic experience of local life by walking into a beautiful park named after Luxun, China's greatest modern writer of the 20th century. Luxun was also an important critic known for his sharp essays on the historical traditions and modern conditions of China. Inside the park, everywhere you look people are involved in tai chi, ballroom dancing, singing in large groups and solo, playing instruments, engaging in various exercises, flying kites, and the list goes on. This tour focuses on the mysterious past of modern China's history. We will follow Luxun's footsteps to discover the hidden house of the secret Sun Association (which was the birthplace of the left-wing revolution), and visit long-forgotten backstreets of the homes that once belonged to writers, poets, and artists. Explore Duolun Road culture street and learn about the development of China's 20th-century politics and literature.
