About the Event
Burning firecrackers is one of the Chinese traditions to celebrate the arrival of the new year. The cracking sounds not only add a happy and joyful note to the “Song of Spring,” but also convey the meaning of “expel the old and welcome the new.” In this class, Valerie will show us how to knot a string of firecrackers to use as a decoration to welcome the Year of Tiger. No prior Chinese knotting skill is required.
