Soup dumplings - jackpot!
Nanxiang is known as the home of soup dumpling, or xiaolongbao. Shanghai and Beyond will show us that this is by far the best day trip one can take just by using the subway, and is a great introduction to all that defines Yangtze River culture. Guyi is one of Shanghai’s five classic gardens with waterways, pavilions, and a sanctuary for two gorgeous black cranes. Inscribed along the walls are quotations from legendary figures which inspired many generations but still have relevance today. For lunch, we will feast on local delicacies and slurp xiaolongbao while discussing how experts determine which ones are the best. We will then explore the Nanxiang history museum and the charms of this 1500-year-old water town.
