After a wonderful year exploring Shanghai’s luxury afternoon teas, we’re taking the experience to the next level with Shanghai’s Grand Hotels. Throughout the 2026–2027 year, we’ll visit a different hotel each month, combining afternoon tea with the unique ambiance, architecture, and hospitality that make each property special. 

This month, step back into the glamour of old Shanghai with an exclusive private tour of the legendary Fairmont Peace Hotel, one of the city’s most celebrated landmarks. Opened in 1929 as the Cathay Hotel, this Art Deco masterpiece on the Bund became a center of Shanghai’s sophisticated social scene, welcoming international dignitaries, celebrities, business leaders, and fashionable society throughout its storied history.
