About the Event
Sheshan is known as the backyard garden of the city. It is the only natural mountain forest resort in Shanghai and has always been a pleasant getaway from the urban hustle and bustle. Chenshan Botanical Garden is home to approximately 10,000 plant species. On a cold early spring day, it will be lovely to visit the greenhouses and look at the tropical flowers and sand plants. We will start our bike ride from metro station Sheshan (metro line 9). The area has well-paved roads and is perfect for cycling. It will be great to get outside of the city and stretch our legs.
We will bike around the Moon Lake Sculpture Park first and make our way to West Sheshan Park. There are different paths to walk to the top of the hill where we will have scenic views, if it is a clear day. We will visit the hilltop Catholic Church and the Observatory, if they are open. After the easy hike we will continue to bike to Chenshan Botanical Garden. We will visit the tropical plants conservatory, which is the largest in Asia and the most colorful and eye-opening one in Chenshan. We may feel like walking in a real tropical rainforest and have fun in the plants and flowers paradise. Finally, we will bike back to the metro station and finish the tour. Approximately 20 kms.
